Dear Apartment 23, I'm happy for you guys that you seem to have gotten a new stereo. I bet that's a lot of fun, listening to your toonz. I bet it's even better than when you guys dragged that couch that was 2 sizes to small for these doorways up 3 flights of stairs. Remember that? Y'all tore a chunk out the wall in the hallway that's still missing, I'm sure you remember.
However, you seem to have set up your stereo directly underneath my bed. Now I understand it may seem like no big thing, playing your jambox on a Saturday morning, get your weekend started with a little dancing maybe. However if you go to bed in the wee, wee hours of the morning.....then getting woke up by the throbbing beat of whatever musical abortion it is you were playing WAS FUCKING UNPLEASANT. And royally fucked over our morning in many ways. That's what the stomping was about. And that's what the music later tonite is going to be about. Don't fuck with me. I have enough Yoko Ono music to make your lives seriously unpleasant.
If I had my way, ALL my favorite TV shows would disrupt people's daily lives. Hot Cops would pull over unsuspecting motorists on the highway and pictures of Principal Blackman would adorn all public spaces.
Video Rec: The Barenaked Ladies had an air guitar contest and used the responses to construct a video to one of the best songs off their new album, "Wind It Up." It pretty much kicks ass.
Semi-Interesting Tidbit: While channel-surfing today, I cought a bit of a story on Paris Hilton's latest exploit and discovered her publicist is none other than this guy, Elliot Mintz. Mintz was one THE Guys in John Lennon & Yoko Ono's inner circle in the 70s - he was John's primary "handler" (well aside from May Pang, I guess?) during his stint in California away from Yoko, he's the guy in this interview where John talks about getting back together with the Beatles, and he was the one who hosted the radio program where Yoko released all those Lennon tapes after John's death. I figured whoever was responsible for Paris Hilton's wholesale saturation of the mass media had to be someone used to playing with the big guns.
In other, related news we saw The US Vs. John Lennon on Monday, which was *awesome*. Lots of very interesting stuff in there, and lots of great footage of John & Yoko.
